Hello, neighbors, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at our B&B RV Multi-Purpose Hatch with a thumb lock in black color. So, folks, this molded plastic hatch will give you an exterior access to your RV's needs. It's a thumb lock, you simply twist to open or unlock it, and twist to lock it. So once again, you got a little thumb lock here. You can simply twist that to lock it, and then twist it the other way to open it.
It comes with that plastic thumb lock. You could replace it with a metal lock core and key. That's sold separately if you want. You can see the plastic latch there, you can replace that with metal if you want. It is gonna secure to the exterior wall with the supplied screws.
You can see they're painted black on the face already to match. You're also gonna get a roll of butyl tape, that's this stuff right here. If you've never seen or heard of butyl tape, it's like a putty consistency, it's squishy, it's kinda sticky. Basically, you'll cut out, if you don't already have a cutout, the size of this, which is 11 inches long, six inches wide or deep, however you wanna say it. You'll push this in place after you put butyl tape all the way around it.
And then from this side, you'll simply put all the install screws through all the screw holes, and that's gonna go through that butyl tape and make a watertight, weathertight seal. It has been NSF, CSA, and TEI certified. Made here in the US. As far as some overall outside dimensions, were getting 12 5/8 overall on the length, 7 3/4 inches that way, and 1 1/2 inches deep, not counting the little thumb screw which sticks out just a little bit. You can kinda see it sticks out.
So again, I was getting 1 1/2 deep without the thumb screw. So very nice hatch flange. And again, this is from B&B Molders, the RV Multi-Purpose Hatch with thumb lock. I'm Steven, have a good one.

It fit my 2013 Entegra Counerstone. The door doesn’t close nicely, but works. Maybe a breaking period is needed. Sit I’ll works, I’m happy.
The lock and door are very flimsy. What is the point of having a locking door when 5 seconds with a screwdriver can defeat it? Also, it needs a more secure type of key. The lock protrudes out the back considerably, so if space is tight, it will not work. However, it is all that is available. Wish it came in other colors.
It worked very well for the project. I used it as an access panel by cutting the back off and placing it in the tin skirting along side my trailer. The manufacturer placed 1 of the four Greywater drain valve handles up on the frame in a very inaccessible location. This panel worked very well it is a little small but the next size up was a lot bigger and a lot more money. So I do have to squeeze my hand in a bit but it works and looks great
Great product I used this to move my leveling system. Control panel and was scared to cut into side wall of my fifth wheel but overall great product they send everything you need to have a water tight seal.

Oddly, I didn't get this for an RV application ... I got it to solve a problem with a Whirlpool Model WHW5605MW front-loading washing machine that requires complete disassembly to clean out the drain debris filter. Turns out, this B&B hatch makes for a relatively easy installation to solve the problem they created. Not what you'd normally read on an etrailer, but it is what it is. By installing this on the front of my washing machine, I can now clean out the drain filter without any disassembly at all. It's brilliant. The thumb-lock is great, too -- no key necessary for this application.
Installation required a drill, some proper measuring and marking abilities, hand-nibblers, file, self-tapping screws, permanent marker, clear nail polish (to finish the edges), this B&B hatch, and about an hour from start to finish.
Installed on the motorhome today. Perfect fit.

This item was the perfect replacement for my gray water access hatch. Item was shipped and received in a timely manner.
Overpriced junk. This B&B RV Multi-Purpose Hatch (BM52MR) costs $[XX] but feels like a $[XX] part. Cheap thin plastic, weak thumb lock that barely holds it shut. It’s the only size that fits my rig, but it’s sure to break soon. Terrible value — the manufacturer and seller should be ashamed charging this much for such low quality.
